Jacob’s parents met young and fell instantly in love. They were soon married and began planning a family. When this didn’t work out, Jacob’s Father, William Foad, found out that he was infertile. While on a trip to Japan, Jacob’s mother Issa, met a beautiful woman who comforted her over her stressed marriage and ultimately seduced her. 9 months later, after returning to the UK, Jacob was born. William and Issa had managed to convince himself that William was the father, but when the child was born, and his mixed heritage obvious to all, William was sent into a jealous rage, ultimately killing Issa and attempting to kill the baby Jacob. He was unable to complete that, though, through some unknown act of intervention and instead turned the gun on himself.
Years later, the Orphan Jacob grew up and before leaving for university he received a letter, apparently from his mother, detailing the bizarre circumstances of his conception. Swearing revenge he postpones his studies against his friend’s advice and leaves for Japan. On the way he encounters a white wolf who tells him about his powers as a scion apparently to teach him how to use them for revenge.
